There is now a simple solution for retrofitting your existing Double End Quartz Halogens. Westinghouse's R7 base LED Replacement module has the same R7S base as double-ended halogens, allowing for a quick install. 2500 lumens on 25W with a 2700K color temperature. Can be used in totally enclosed fixtures and is damp rated. Lasts 25,000 hours with a 5 year manufacturer warranty.
