GE Ecolux T5 lamps have reduced mercury content by over 80% over the previous traditional fluorescent lamps. Available in 2' and 3' sizes as well as various configurations in 4', from normal 28W T5 lamps to 47W Watt Miser T5 tubes and GE High Output T5s. GE Ecolux lamps also utilize an exclusive material design that helps prevent the small amount of mercury in the lamp from forming mercury compounds which may leach into groundwater after lamp disposal. Advanced coating technologies have been developed to ensure long life.
